Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

I just was here last week and everything from the service to the food was amazing. The calamari was fresh and my polenta dish was great. I've never had a single bad thing to say about this place and have been here several times over the last couple years. The owners are very friendly, along with the bartenders and wait staff. Thanks!

I had the small caprese salad and it was fine, but nothing special. Then I ordered the Cappe Sante appetizer for my meal. I wasn't hungry enough to order an entree and it sounded good. Let me tell you that it was To Die For!!!!! The menu describes it as 'Pan seared scallops with a spicy limoncello vinaigrette over baby spinach'. It must have had at least eight cloves of chopped garlic in that vinaigrette which made it unbelievably delicious. I can't even describe how fabulous it was. Then I ordered a cup of coffee, which was robust and very flavorful and the Limoncello mascarpone cheesecake which was ok but not fantastic.

The meal started off very promising, with a great waitress and an ok if cold appetizer. But by the time they delivered our steak, things completely fell apart. I don't know if their chef had an aneurism or if the owner decided that restauranting just wasn't his thing, but it was a goat rodeo. I have to say, it's the first time I've ever had a $30 entree placed in front of me....and removed 5 minutes later....replaced with the "right" entree...Aaand REMOVED again. And then...drumroll, please...replaced with the original entree. You can't make this stuff up, people. When my husband complained to the owner (aneurysm Tony) he was told "whaddya want me to do, give you the restaurant?"

Everything was excellent. Food was delicious. I would highly recommend and will return.

Too bad yelp doesn't allow 0 stars. This was The worst dining experience of my entire life. Three times they set a meal down in front of me and then said it was the wrong one. And when I finally did get my meal it was still the wrong one. The manager/owner wouldn't even apologize. Left without paying the bill to say the least. Wouldn't recommend anybody to go here for a meal with their family. I have never given this been a review of any restaurant anywhere.
(1)Mark D.
Great atmosphere and solid service combined with top flight food = a memorable meal out. Italian fare with an Inland Northwest approach. Fantastic view from the dining room, too. Pasta dishes were great, sauces were of high quality and the pasta was perfectly cooked. The menu had a good variety of meat and poultry dishes, and our entrees were well prepared and presented. The whole experience was well worth the trip over to the restaurant.

God I'm so impressed with this place. We made a reservation but we had no problem getting a table right away without mentioning it. The staff are very nice, we were greeted by multiple people before we were even seated. The food is TO DIE FOR. I LOVE IT HERE. Their seafood is a must-have. Don't forget dessert! This is Idaho, so the portions are HUGE. But who doesn't love a lot of really good food? Our waitress was super nice, she always checked on us and was always really patient when we couldn't decide what to order. Oddly, the guy who got our waters was the opposite. That's why I gave Tony's 4 stars instead of 5.

This place has really gone down hill. Used to be my favorite restaurant in Coeur d Alene. I recommended it to everyone. However the last two visits were a real disappointment. I seriously doubt I will go back anytime soon. The adage "Familiarity breeds contempt" is appropriate in this case. Some of the "long timer" wait staff are a little too familiar with the regulars and feel they don't have to try as hard. I feel there is no longer a professional waiter/diner experience. And some of the new wait staff are painfully inexperienced. OK if you're dining at the Iron Horse, but not OK at an expensive restaurant like this. Parking is a real problem as well. If it's busy, you are pretty much screwed trying to get a parking space in their tiny lot. I guess you could park on the highway but that's probably not very safe. The food is still pretty decent, but the overall experience is not worth the price of admission. It's really too bad. I hate to see good restaurants lose what made them great.

We had an excellent time on the 4th of July -we came in for an early dinner around 4:15ish we were greeted by the owners (Lovely couple) and we were seated next to the window. It was my parents' 49th wedding anniversary and we had no reservation but they treated us amazing our servers were Danny and Veronica I believe what a great servers!! The food was so good we started with the mozzarella app-so good then a wonderful Caesar salad -we split the Chicken Marasala Marcapone sp?? Excellent! My parents had pasta linguine also excellent! Check this place out -we will certainly be back!

I must say that the location is quite amazing but unfortunately the food leaves much to be desired. To be honest, I really do want to like this place and I have given it to tries and five entrées and not a single one has been up to the level of olive garden. Sorry olive garden. Tonight, I had the spaghetti pescatore and the pasta was slightly below mediocre in the seafood was so obviously previously frozen that it was hard to believe that it was being served at an Italian restaurant rather than what you would expect if you are foolish enough to order the same at a bar at 1130 at night. I honestly can't imagine why everybody seems to be falling all over themselves to complement this place. I don't know whether it is people who work there or possibly people who are good friends with the owner or what. I look at some of the reviews for places that are truly phenomenal and see that they get 3.5-4 stars and wonder who these critics are and then see a dive like this getting 4.5 stars and I can't even imagine what kind of payoffs were made. How do you mess up a simple spinach salad? The mushroom ravioli was absolutely terrible. Clearly the ravioli had been taken out of a TV dinner package and then had been drenched in some sort of cheese salt which was supposed to be cognac cream sauce and then, as though the person who created that gem had not told the person doing the garnishes, it was covered in a processed Parmesan cheese blend that was the salt theist thing that I have ever eaten, and I once ate a heaping bowl of salt.

Fine dining, casual atmosphere. All the bells and whistles here, garnishes, chiffonades, juliennes, open your favorite culinary textbook, this place has it. For the money, just wonderful. The wait staff knows the menu, is willing to help you wade through the choices and amazingly attentive. While this is not really a "family" restaurant, they were gracious and had a good sense of humor with my 8 year old grandson (something of a gourmand in his own right). Kitchen presented impeccable steak, chicken, and fish. Sides were fresh and tasty, green beans just ever so al dente, potatoes creamy and sweet, mixed veg was perfect. The wine list is adequate. The dessert offerings were wonderful, I fell for the cheesecake, again, a sucker for cheesecake.

I was in town for the IRONMAN and went in for an early dinner with a few friends the night before the race. We went in right when they opened so it didn't get busy until we left, so almost the entire staff seemed to stop by our table to say hi at some point. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. I appreciated that my water glass was refilled anytime it was halfway full. Everything I ate was excellent. I had a garden salad and the lasagna. An added bonus was the great view of the lake from our table.

Tony's on the Lake is one of my favorite date-night spots, in Coeur d' Alene, for several reasons. The food here is rustic and flavorful. It isn't exactly an innovative or modern menu, but I don't always want that. I have tried several different entrees and appetizers and I have two personal standouts: the veal shank osso bucco (comes with risotto and usually green beans) and the house made, warm mozzarella with olives and olive oil. The veal shank is succulent and flavorful and they give you a little spoon, to get to the marrow. I have also enjoyed a few fish dishes here as well. Aside from the food, the location is beautiful, overlooking the lake and with boat-up access, across the street. It is one of the very few places to boat to and eat, on lake CDA and by far the best of the options. Tony's is just a solid pick, when you want a truly great meal out. My only suggestion would be that they re-do their bathroom, because it feels like a child daycare (children's books and toys cluttering the very small space). It is just an odd experience in the Women's restroom, anyway. But not anything that would deter me from eating here!
(5)Anita S.
Fantastic dinner on Saturday night! Great service and great food.
(5)Rick S.
Appetizers!!!! very good - waiting over 1 1/2 hours for our meal to make its way to our table on a mid week night with reservations - not so good!!!! I guess the upside was the food still tasted good the following day - which is when we ate most of it because of the wait. Not the Tony's I remember from the past and not at the top of my Go Back list -
(2)Cady G.
Absolutely awesome! My boyfriend and I were on a road trip and needed something delicious after a week of cheap food, so we stopped here after seeing the positive yelp reviews. The atmosphere was nice, the view was gorgeous, and the staff were extremely friendly (despite us being scraggly college kids.) I'm a pretty picky eater too and they were absolutely awesome about making chicken fettuccine the way I like it instead of what they had on the menu. Glad we caught this place on yelp!
(5)Kelly O.
Food was fresh and prepared well, did not have much flavor. Rolls were probably frozen as they were very hard but warm. The house wine was great. The service was very friendly but painfully slow. It seemed overpriced for the meals we had.
(3)David G.
My wife and I went there this evening for our 35th anniversary. I had called ahead and let them know it was our anniversary and requested a view window table. Got a table with a magnificent view! Service from Jenifer and her co-worker was friendly and expedient. The food is amazingly good and we found a great wine among their extensive list. We had mussels and calamari (plus ordered some of the prawns) for appetizers. It was a lot of food. We skipped a salad. Both had the Osso Buco. Some of the best I have ever had (and I'm Italian) served with a very nice risotto. My wife is a tiramisu nut and loved it. I finished with the cheese cake with the lemon finish which was wonderful. We will definitely be back!

After calling for a reservation earlier in the day we arrived right on time and were seated directly behind a group of four very loud inebriated customers. We asked for a different table, but, because we were a couple we were trapped in the 'two tops' next to the wall. Our waitress could not talk over the other diners to tell us the specials and she did move us to a table closer to the door. It looked like the 'window seats' were saved for regulars. We had the steelhead special and it was delicious, as was the dessert of lemon cheesecake. The waitress was very attentive and did try her best to make up for the seating problems.
(3)Edie S.
Our group of eight arrived to a warm welcome on a rainy June evening to celebrate a birthday. We had a big table in the bar area with a view out on the lake through the many large windows. Our waiter, Nick, was wonderful. There were two IPAs in tap (yeah!) and the specialty cocktails were fun and tasty. We had delicious appetizers and salads. The special fish of the day, an almond crusted steelhead, was moist and flavorful under a tasty, crispy topping and won rave reviews. My steak was cooked perfectly and complimented by a wonderful balsamic reduction. The lasagne was a mass of delectable cheesiness with spinach pasta. We barely had room for the creme brûlée and flour less chocolate cake but all who had bites loved them. We were so pleased with the whole meal and would recommend this friendly, Italian restaurant to all who want great food and service.
(5)Ashley H.
Big portions and a great view should be the tag line for this location. We didn't make a reservation so we missed the boat on eating on the terrace! Luckily this little gem has huge windows so you don't miss out on the view! We ordered the antipasto plate with a ceased salad to start and nothing but good things there! The meats and olives were great! For dinner I ate way too much bread and devoured a delicious pasta dish! The waitress was fantastically awesome for putting up with my "driving all day and I am tired and grumpy" state of mind so kudos there too! My only qualms were the bathrooms! First, the toys in there are creepy. Second, please update the doors! Be sure to call ahead for reservations for the terrace and watch out as this location is hidden just around the corner. Literally, I am not trying to be cute with that one.
(4)Nick T.
Wow! Absolutely amazing! This is how Italian food is supposed to be done. My appetizer was freshly pulled homemade mozzarella with roasted garlic figs an olives with this better than usual olive oil. I just couldn't stop eating. I had the special which was the crepes filled with ricotta Carmelites onions and sausage topped with an out of this world red pepper sauce. I normally don't indulge like this as I am an Italian and I consider myself to be a master at cooking Italian food. After eating hear tonight. I am a novice. Great service and a multi million dollar view.
(5)Luke S.
Tony's on the lake is absolutely amazing! Great atmosphere on the lake. I love their food and the owner works most of the time. The food is made with the heart and soul of traditional Italian. I have never left unsatisfied but merely pleased with everything. This restaurant has great customer service, outstanding food and it is amazing for dates or romantic occasions! I highly recommend this place to everyone!
(5)Chuck B.
Our family of 9 had a wonderful experience at Tonys. The service was impeccable....the food was outstanding and our server, Cindy, made the evening quite special. Special occasion of a 44 year wedding anniversary as well as a wonderful family vacation was made extra special by our Tony's experience.
(5)Kasey K.
I'm here on vacation and my family thought I would enjoy this restaurant. The atmosphere is picturesque out on the deck and the waitress was lovely. They even made me a special request cocktail. I do however take issue with having to send a portion of my meal back every course. My caprese had old tomatoes so I got the Caesar which was very over dressed. I got the salmon special... the salmon was over cooked and the green beans were improperly cleaned... so I sent the salmon back, and it came out raw and cold in the center. Our waitress was amazing and understanding and had them take my meal off the bill. Everyone else enjoyed what they got.
(2)Gary J.
The view! The food! The service! It is all good. Next trip to CDA we will dine here again for sure. Cheers
(5)Kris D.
We came in with our children, and from the moment we walked in the door every one was so nice. I ordered the Osso buco it was not my favorite, the risotto tasted more like polenta, and it was drowning in the sauce, but My husband had the PolloalMattone it was very good. My kids split the Pizzaiola it was amazing! Had it not been for my osso buco I would have given them 5 stars. Also, for those of you with kids they really are kid friendly. In the bathroom on the far wall they have a huge area with toy and children's books for the kids to choose from and take to the table to play with. Also, it is just beautiful to eat in a nice atmosphere and enjoy the view of the lake.
(4)Adam P.
Food = 5 stars, so i hate giving them 4 stars. I had one of their fancy salads to start. Arugula, cranberries, goat cheese, roasted beats, and nuts. It was excellent and well worth the $5 for the individual portion. My saltimbocca pork dish was excellent. The beans and potatoes that accompanied it were great as well. The issue was with the length of time it took to get our food. The waiter took our finished salad plates and said the entrees would be right out. It was easily 20 minutes before they came out. They were not overly busy and people who arrived after us were done eating by the time we got our entrees. We were not in a rush so we didn't care much and did not ask why it took so long. Great food though, I'll go back if I'm in the area again.
(4)Jim C.
Excellent food, reasonable prices, great service and a nice view. What more can you ask?
(5)Josh S.
Great food, service and atmosphere. Nice view too. My medium steak was very rare. The food is very rich but delicious.
(5)Alixandra S.
The reason for the lack of stars was the service. It took almost 2 hours to get our food, and it wasn't because they were busy but our waitress simply forgot about us and wouldn't own up to her mistake. She messed up the dressing on the salad and instead of taking it back to make a new one she just brought out more dressing so the salad had two clashing dressings. The food however was pretty decent.
(2)Nate T.
We showed up earlier than our reservation and Tonys worked us in even on a busy Saturday night. Great food and atmosphere. John Elway even showed up.
(5)Kelly B.
Eat here every year when we come up to Lake CDA and am always happy with the service and the meal! I had the pasta with chicken and mushrooms with Marsala... Can't recall the fancy name, but it was delish! I got the half portion and there was enough left for another meal. I definitely recommend Tony's and this dish. Had a great Chianti as well. My kids love this place as well - they have a little toy area off the women's restroom for your little one to choose a toy. Has kept my kids busy for years!
(5)Nelson Y.
Quality of food, service and ambiance is a good fit for this place. The actual restaurant isn't on the lake but it's across the street from it. We had the homemade mozarella cheese with olives, figs and garlic- that was amazing. Also had the fried risotto balls- must try. Very succulent and tasty. I had the linguine con vongole- it was a 7 out of 10, good taste, but the texture wasn't al dente which was requested. My friends had the mixed grill and also the osso bucco- both looked great.
(4)Ken G.
Superb meal with excellent relaxed service. Nice wine list. Would go to Tony's anytime we hit C 'd A.
(5)Sarah R.
Don't order the halibut fish special on a Monday. Get reservations if you want to sit outside. It's way too loud inside, we had to shout at each other to be heard. Way to many decibels with a full house. Be prepared for unnecessarily snobby and rude adults when leaving via outdoor seating area. We left the same way we came in- via the side entrance by outdoor seating, but the staff closed that entrance with a full table! Since I've never been to Tonys before, I didn't know there was another entrance and the people were so rude and stuck up to me! They applauded my husband for exiting a different way. All in all, I prefer Scratch. The only thing Tonys has going for them is their location and boat launch.
(3)John M.
Excellent food and view. We always stop here for dinner when travelling through Coeur D Alene. The owner Paul is a great host and Michael is our favorite waiter. The Italian food is spot on whether you have steak, seafood, or pasta. And they have a great wine list. Highly recommend.
(5)Taylor H.
If you're looking for a genuine Italian experience, check out Tony's! Eating outside or even indoors in front of the windows like we did, I found myself feeling as though I was back on the Italian Riviera! Amazing food, Amazing view, make sure your company is amazing too! Mine was! Check out Tony's!
(5)Todd F.
We have lived in the Spokane/Coeur d'Alene area for 3+ years and have eaten at many restaurants. I learned about Tony's from a former golf pro who sat next to me on a plane ride into Spokane. We decided to try it and now it is our favorite Italian restaurant in the area. Fabulous! The owner's daughter is the chef...classically trained. Try it and you will come back. Great views as well. Right on the lake.
(5)John N.
First visit.........Good service and some great food. The eggplant was crispy over a nice pasta. The special my wife had was out of this world! A pounded chicken breast - rolled around spinach, bacon and Brie and then wrapped in prosciutto. This was set on a carbonara pasta. Well be going back!!!
(4)Mark K.
Excellent! Great atmosphere, great service, extremely family friendly and exceptional cuisine.
(5)Tess S.
This restaurant has hit our "top 5 restaurants in the world" list! I and my two children (6 & 7) were looking for a place to eat in Coeur d'Alene - there on vacation. They wanted Italian, I Yelped, and we ended up here (be careful - the Yelp address is wrong). It was an adventure finding it, but boy was I glad I did! They were wonderfully warm and accommodating right from the start. The Spaghetti with meat sauce that my son ordered was simply the best I have ever, ever had (and just to add context to that, I travel extensively). The flavor was deep, rich but balanced, and just a tad sweet in a very natural non-assuming way. The pasta with chicken, asparagus and mushrooms in a cream sauce was heaven. Very fresh ingredients (the asparagus tasted freshly cut), and the sauce was perfect - the right amount, flavorful, but not too rich. The ceasar was good too (I really wanted pasta :-)). Not over dressed, good traditional flavor. So - we loved it so much that we insisted to my husband that we take him there for a second (his first) meal. My husband had a pasta that had a smoked tomato sauce on it. That was the bomb. Literally. Completely creative, not something you see on every menu, and unbelievably tasty. I guarantee you he will be spending the next year trying to replicate something close to that sauce at home. I ordered the salmon served with a squash ravioli. INSANE! So glad I kicked the diet aside for some pasta! I love how they cooked the salmon - fresh, healthy, perfect flavor. And again the sauce on the ravioli was perfect - different from your average. Service was fantastic both times. The second time we were there our waitress got hit with a large party, yet all the servers seemed to cover for her without missing a beat - seemlessly. I love how warm and welcoming the owners are. We already miss Tony's. But if they were closer we'd be in trouble.
(5)J A.
A fun location during the summer. Enjoy the lake view and some fine Italian food. The service is family like (in a good family way). Sincere and efficient service. By boat or by car Tony's is a great. On a warm evening enjoy the patio. If you get cold they will offer you a blanket or a snuggie.
(4)Janet B.
We're from the Napa Valley and we think the food at Tony's is as good as any Italian restaurant down here. Their Bolognese sauce is equal to Chiarello's at his Bottega in Yountville. Very friendly service, too.
(5)alexander m.
On the deck overlooking the lake we enjoyed a delightful Italian dinner which started with fresh hand pulled mozzarella! The house wine ( sangivese y.not ) complemented the spaghetti pesce and handmade spinach lasagna! Albeit the decaf coffee was too watery, but the meal and friendly attentive service made this restaurant a real treat!
(4)AJ T.
Quite possibly the best overall experience I have ever had. First off however you must know the Yelp location is incorrect! The Real address is 6823 East Coeur D'Alene Lake Drive, Coeur d'Alene, ID (You drive past the resort golf course continue along the lake, it will be on your left.) Don't worry the road ends about a mile after Tony's so you will know if you missed it. (Tony's is NOT in downtown Coeur d' Alene) Tony's Supper Club is the perfect spot for a big meal. You will want to have everything from the apps to dessert. This is not a place to have a light dinner. So let me start with the app, hand pulled warm mozzarella cheese covered in roasted figs, garlic, and olives, served with ciabatta bread. For dinner (I was with my family so I tried a lot of food) I had the seafood spaghetti which had pasta, scallops, prawns, and green lipped mussels all tossed in vodka sauce. My family had the lasagna, the short ribs, Tuscan chicken, and a steak. Every single one was as good as the other. For dessert the creme brule was one of the best I have ever had. The service was out of this world as well. Our waiter (Michael) is a golf pro in the winter and works at Tony's in the summer. I have spoken with others that have eaten there and others waiters do things such as work as private chefs in the winter at private houses in Sanoma. What I am saying is the staff is amazingly professional and friendly. The location is also amazing. As I mentioned above it is not where yelp says, in downtown Coeur d' Alene but past the Resort Golf Course on a quiet cove overlooking the lake. They are closed Monday and Tuesday but it is worth working your schedule around so that you can get here for a meal.

Wonderful atmoshphere & awesome food!!

This is a great local hangout with fantastic food and service. You also get a wonderful view of one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, Coeur D Alene lake idaho
(5)Erik B.
Tony's is one of our favorite restaurants anywhere. Great food anytime that we have gone, good wine selection, VERY good service overall. We have even taken our 3 young boys with us a couple of times and the servers have been very family friendly for what is usually a 'date' restaurant for us and other. The food quality has been excellent. We have only had experience of mediocre service, and the next time we went back our server and the owner had heard the story (internally, we didn't complain) recognized us, and apolgized and made up for our 'not so stellar' experience. I would recommend this place to anyone. A little out of downtown around CDA Lake Drve for touists (or by boat, they have their own dock), but well worth the few extra minutes to get there!
(5)Livy O.
We drove past this place many times during our week vacation and hadn't been tempted to eat there due to a rather average looking facade and assumed it was just spaghetti and burgers. We were so wrong - this place was awesome! We stopped by for a quick lunch on the last day and enjoyed the most delicious food and atmosphere. The fried chicken sandwich was so unique and remarkably light and tasty. The service was wonderful and we enjoyed a very leisurely lunch and wished we'd stopped by earlier!!
(5)Kathleen S.
Very good food and great ambiance. We went late last fall with friends and will have to go again to write a more comprehensive review. Memorable qualities from that visit though were decent wine list (especially for CdA) and HUGE proportions. We should have observed our friends when they ordered the lasagna to split. My husband and I (and our toddler) ordered two things to share between the three of us and we went home with a lot of leftovers. Although it is fancy by CdA standards, they had toys in the bathroom for the little ones to play with (bonus points for that!). We plan to again soon to eat on the patio. Really good olive oil (for the bread) and better salads would have given this place a five-star from me.
(4)Mike B.
Tony's is another one of those places that needs to be updated. Not much maintenance done to the outside and it shows. This place has no real identity. The food is mediocre. Is this place suppose to be Italian, American or what? Menu needs to be updated. More attention and care given to the cooking.
(2)Kim B.
So delicious! This family-owned restaurant would be a nice date place, with views of the lake. It's a little more expensive and fancier than other Italian restaurants in town, but the food is a step above. My rigatoni with meat sauce was tasty, and my husband loved his gnocchi, which melted in his mouth.
(4)Scott C.
Always great food. I highly reccomend the chicken under the brick and all the deserts are great.
(5)RandE W.
Great food, good service, beautiful location! If you are near Coeur d'Alene - make the drive/boat trip to Tony's. There are several worthy places to sup on or near the main drag (Sherman). But the reward for the few minutes off the beaten path is generous portions of well prepared Italian and a nice wine list. The mozzarella appetizer is as good as other reviewers indicated, but would have benefited from a tepenade in place of the olive melange (rustic good - pits bad). Waiter suggested a Chianti with the spaghetti pescatore, I enjoyed both. The chicken under-a-brick was excellent. We're big eaters but had leftovers; couldn't even manage dessert. The next table ordered pana cotta that looked good!
(4)Peter L.
Excellent Italian food in Idaho! Nice location on the lake a short drive from town out the Coeur D'Alene lake drive almost to the end, maybe 10 minutes or so from downtown. Wonderful app's including one "special" app that is usually available according to the server. This was a homemade mozzarella covered with roasted garlic, sun dried tomatoes, olives and oil served with a crusty bread. At $15 more than enough for a table of 4! Entrees include meat, fish and a nice assortment of pasta dishes, I had the seafood pasta which was loaded with shrimp, scallops, mussels and other bits in a creamy vodka red sauce which was slightly hot spiced, just enough to add some nice flavor. No room for deserts but they sounded good!
(5)Casey H.
Great view, friendly service, delicious food! My husband had the seafood spaghetti and the portion was huge!! The only reason I put four stars is for my dish... Don't get me wrong, it was spectacular, but only 6 lobster raviolis for $23 seemed outrageous, it was more like an appetizer. We will definitely return, I will just make sure I select another delicious choice ;)

We love Tony's! If you go, you must have the mozzarella special. To. Die. For. This is a casual restaurant with outdoor seating for gorgeous days by the lake. It's incredibly popular and it's easy to see why. The food is great, staff is friendly and atmosphere lively. My husband and I both had salads and steaks another salad was good, but the steak was excellent. Steaks came with a mushroom ravioli with a Gorgonzola sauce and the mixture with the steaks was excellent. Fair warning however - we should have split one steak dinner. After the mozzarella and salads, we wound up taking half our dinner home. We love Tony's and will be back again and again.

We arrived for our 6:30 reservation on time and were immediately seated and ordered quickly. At 8:00, we still had not received our food so we asked for it to be packaged to go. That took another 30 minutes so it took us two hours and we still did not get to eat at the restaurant. They did apologize and send us home with free desserts which helped but I doubt we'll be going back anytime soon. I can't tell you how the food was as it's sitting in the refrigerator and I'll have it for dinner tonight. Very disappointed.

What an awesome surprise! We came across Tony's while out for a drive on a dead-end road. The place was packed and we knew that it must be something very special and we were right. We were seated immediately, the hostess was sweet as pie. We didn't have a huge appetite so we asked the kitchen to split our lobster ravioli entrée. There was an extra four dollar charge to do that, which I think is very common. They do this because they add some extra sides to the plate so it doesn't look so bare, however with ravioli there are no extra sides. It was simply putting 4 raviolis in 2 bowls as opposed to 8 raviolis in 1. They shouldn't have charged I don't think. The dinner was great and service was awesome. Veronica our waitress was pleasant and had some great wine suggestions. HI VERONICA! (she promised to "check Yelp out for the first time") This is an established restaurant with an authentic menu and great service. Give it a try, drive down that scenic road and find a great dinner spot. I promise you will not be disappointed.
